What is Synthetic Aperture Radar (SAR)?
Synthetic aperture radar builds high-resolution images by moving a radar antenna along a path and coherently combining returns, synthesising an aperture far larger than the physical one. It images through cloud, smoke and darkness, which optical satellites cannot.
